Heartless

Jason had bought his girlfriend Natalie a heart necklace for their one year anniversary and she was so delighted by it that she put it on immediately. She loved the way it looked on her and she repaid him by giving him the best sex he had ever had.

However the next few weeks Jason noticed Natalie become increasingly more distant and more unlike herself. She was wearing sexier clothes and makeup, staying out late with her friends and seemed to treat him like a chore. He also noticed that the necklace he gave her was looking different. It was no longer full, it was if it were getting hollowed out.

He looked up the website where he bought the necklace and discovered the fineprint he had missed while buying. It read:

“Designed to create increase beauty and sex drive in wearer. WARNING: prolonged use can cause vanity, narcissism, adultery, debauchery and ideas of grandeur. Look for the emptying of the heart as an early warning sign.”

Jason couldn’t believe what he was reading but it all lined up. He rushed into town to find Natalie, only to find her flirting with some guy. He pulled her away from the man to speak to her.

“Natalie I’m so sorry I’ve done this to you, I’ve made you into some heartless bitch by giving you the necklace. You look stunning now but at a serious cost. Please you have to take it off before it’s too late.” Jason pleaded but Natalie just laughed in his face.

“You think some necklace has made me see what a loser I was dating? I just realized weeks ago that I was too good for you, that this body was too good to be wasted fucking your limp dick. But if you think it’s the necklace then here.” She said ripping off the now completely hollow heart jewelry from her neck and throwing it at him.

“Keep it loser, I don’t want to be reminded of your pathetic face anymore. Maybe give it to your next girlfriend then you can pretend to be fucking the best thing you ever had.” Natalie said with a cruel laugh as she walked back to the waiting man who she kissed right in front of Jason. Natalie was now heartless and Jason now heart broken.
